How to be invisible!

Is it me? It's fascinating how one seems to be invisible to, or ignored by, most folk. Stand on a station concourse and people seem to virtually walk into you, presumably expecting you to move aside for them. Walk along the seafront prom and joggers will brush closely past you despite the prom being about 6 metres wide and otherwise deserted! It's almost as if they want to knock you over! People on the autistic spectrum find this a bit challenging - Rosie very much likes her "personal space". And some spiritual folk might consider it to be "invading one's aura". And don't get us started on the way people often don't seem to want to interact with us or respond to requests, even on a professional or business level. The unanswered emails, unfulfilled work contracts etc get a bit demoralizing! Unless the other people want something from you: then it is different, of course! "Is it me?" says Rosie, but guesses that Kate Bush has also "been there, seen it, bought the t-shirt", judging by the lyrics of her song:

I found a book on how to be invisible.

Take a pinch of keyhole

And fold yourself up

You cut along the dotted line

You think inside out

And you're invisible.

Eye of braille,

Hem of anorak,

Stem of wallflower,

Hair of Doormat.
