Round England Walk: Rowlands Castle to Portsmouth

Rosie returned to the village of Rowlands Castle by train, to continue her yomp around England. Her usual system up to now, has been to travel to the start of each section by train, and return home from the nearest station to her destination for the day. This day, she had treated herself to a First Class train ticket. On entering the First Class compartment at the end of the day, after a 10 mile hike in warm weather wearing hiking gear, knapsack, and carrying walking poles, she must have looked particularly dishevelled, such that the train conductor looked at her a bit askance and said "You are aware this is a First Class compartment?" Ouch. Rosie felt a bit "dissed" by the perceived discrimination. Why would it be assumed she was someone without a valid ticket?
